Abstract: Glycogen synthase kinase-3β(GSK-3β)is a ubiquitous serine-threonine protein kinase involved in glycogen metabolism, cell membrane to nucleus signal transducting, gene transcription and translation, and the regulation of many cell activation, division and survival.Recent findings has showed that inhibitors of GSK-3β had anti-inflammatory effects on acute lung injury, ischemia reperfusion injury, acute pancreatitis, brain injury and so on.Consequently, inhibition of GSK-3β activity may provide a novel therapeutic approach to the management of critical diseases.
