Abstract: Peroxisome proliferators-activated receptors (PPARs) which has three subtypes of PPARα, PPARβ, PPARγ are nuclear receptors that function as regulators of lipid and lipoprotein metabolism and glucose homeostasis and influence cellular proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis. There are many studies indicate PPARs probably protect against important organs ischemia-reperfusion injury in recent years. The aim of the present review is to highlight recent advances in the hepatic ischemia/reperfusion injury.
