Abstract: 【Abstract】Objective To evaluate the effect penehyclidine or tramadol on the catheter-related bladder discomfort (CRBD) after extubation . Methods Ninety male patients (18~73 yr), ASA Ⅰ~Ⅱ, undergoing elective surgery were randomly divided into three groups of 30 each . Group P received penehyclidine 0.015mg • kg-1 , or group T received tramadol 1mg • kg-1 , whereas group C received normal saline 2ml 30 min before extubation. The CRBD was assessed after patient's arrival in the post-anesthesia care unit. Severity of CRBD was graded as mild, moderate and severe. Results Severity of CRBD was reduced in P group and T group compared with C group(P < 0.05),and no significant difference between P group and T group. Conclusion Intravenous penehyclidine 0.015mg • kg-1 or tramadol 1mg • kg-1 may treat effectively for reducing the severity of postoperative CRBD.
