Backgroud Ultrasound technique is applied in more areas related with clinical anesthesia, and also be seen as a safer and easier technique in airway management recently. Objective This paper reviews literatures on the application of ultrasound technique in airway management. Content Upper airway ultrasonographic anatomy and the methods of gaining satisfactory ultrasonogram are described, in additional , the advancement of ultrasound technique in pre-intubation evaluation、position of endotracheal catheter、inserting double-lumen tube and PDT are also introduced in details. Trend In contrast to other image techniques, ultrasound technique shows some special value in airway management. But more studies need to be done about application of ultrasound technique in difficult airway prediction and use of laryngeal mask.
