Abstract: Background :Cardiac chest compression technology has lasted 50 years. It saved many people’s lives when who suffer cardiac arrest. Manual chest compressions, however, has its limitations and inconsistencies. so Therefore, many scholars have designed variousvariable mechanical devices to replace manual CPR,and the mechanism of chest compression is contantly updating and improving improved in further study .
Purpose and Content: This review will consider the history, the mechanism , the evidence and current indications for the use of these devices.
Trend: There is no high quality evidence showing improved outcomes of the use of these device, There is an urgent need for definitive clinical and cost effectiveness trials to confirm or refute the place of mechanical chest-compression devices during resuscitation.
