Abstract: Backgroup Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is an alternative, increasingly routine therapy for symptomatic patients with severe aortic stenosis. These patients may be at high risk from or have contraindications to standard surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR). Objective To describe the measures and management of anesthesia undergoing TAVI. Content To summarize preoperative evaluation, risk stratification undergoing TAVI, anesthetic preparation, anesthetic technique, monitering and management during and after TAVI. Trend Device development, intense research, and expanding procedural experience have all contributed to making TAVI a mostly percutaneous, cardiac catheterization laboratory based technique. TAVI will be used for patients who have procedural concerns, comorbidity, and severe, often unstable cardiac disease.
