[Abstract ] Background Perioperative stroke is one of the most feared complications.It is reported to have an incidence of 0.05-7%.Stroke is an important cause of mortality.Objective The review is set to help doctors understand the perioperative stroke.Content Definition,morbidity,pathophysiology, risk factors,prevention and treatments were summarized. Trend With the further research on perioperative stroke , it offers several novel therapeutic strategies for the treatment of perioperative stroke.
