Background Many studies have been carried out on blood conservation in cadiovascular surgery．Objective To review the recent progress on the perioperative blood conservation of cardiovascular surgery．Content Some skills and methods such as transfusion indications and safety；perioperative autotransfusion；autologous priming；hemodilution and blood anesthesia．Trend Comprehensively applying various blood conservation methods has got lots of social and economic benefits.But individualized ways on the topic needs further researches.
