Background　Dexmedetomidine（Dex） is a highly selective α2 adrenergic agonist. It is an attempt to improve sedative/analgesic use and more and more applied in intravertebral anesthesia.　Objective　This article intends to review the study of the intravertebral anesthesia's application of Dex. The purpose is to inspire some new research ideas.　Content　This article is a review of Intravenous and intravertebral Dex in intravertebral anesthesia. In the mean time，this article is related to shiver prevention and the side effects of Dex being in intravertebral anesthesia.　Trend　Dex will have more broad application value in intravertebral anesthesia.
