Abstract: Background Sepsis contributes to major mortality in ICU patients. To improve early warning accuracy for treatment of sepsis must be the key point. Systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) and compensatory antiinflammation syndrome (CARS) are the following phases of occurring sepsis. Dysfunction of inflammatory response leads to imbalance of pro/anti?蛳 inflammatory and early death. At present, less effective biochemical technologies are helpful to increase diagnostic accuracy of sepsis. Objective This review aimed to summarize early biomarkers of sepsis and multi-PCR-based detection. Content Summing up C-reactin protein(CRP), procalcitonin(PCT), IL-6, lipopolysaccharides-bingding protein(LBP), soluble triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-1(sTREM-1), urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPAR), high mobility group box 1 protein (HMGB1), rennin angiotensin system(RAS) and multi-PCR-based pathogen detection in early warning of sepsis. Trend Few biomarkers or bio-technologies could provide effective warning in early stage of sepsis. PCT is the most widely used method. Future researches should put more emphasis on combined use of biomarkers.
