Abstract: Background Hip fracture is one of the most common fractures in the senile people. Combined spinal epidural anesthesia (CSEA) is a common method of anesthesia used in this kind of operation. But the optional drug proportion in subarachnoid space in CSEA is still controversial. Objective A retrospective analysis was made on the recent progresses of small dose hypobaric bupivacaine in senile patients with hip surgery in China and abroad, focusing on its security and advantages. Content Small dose hypobaric bupivacaine was used in senile patients with unilateral spinal anesthesia. Success rate, the influence on hemodynamics, postoperative functional recovery are summarized. Trend Application of small dose hypobaric bupivacaine solution in senile hip surgery is safe, effective, and reliable. But the suitable minimal dose will be determined by further research and discussion.
