Abstract: Observe the effect of acupoint electricity stimulation on apoptosis in cerebral ischemia-reperfused rats’ spinal dorsal horn. Methods: Build rat left middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) reperfusion model by Longa suture method, and random number table includes control group and electric acupuncture group. “Quchi” and “Zusanli” acupoints on the affected side are acupunctured in electric acupuncture group, while it is free of intervention in control group. 10 Rats are selected randomly from 2 groups at 4 time points including 1d, 3d, 7d and 14d after being modeled, and then apoptosis in spinal dorsal horn is detected by TUNEL method, and Caspase3 protein expression is detected by immunohistochemistry. Results: The apoptosis in spinal dorsal horn and the rate of positive cells in Caspase-3 protein expression in both Group EA and Group Con at 3d, 7d and 14d are higher than 1d (P <0.05 or P <0.01); after the comparison between Group EA and Group Con, there is no difference in apoptosis rate at 1d, but the apoptosis in cornu posterius medullae spinalis and the rate of positive cells in Caspase-3 protein expression are low at 3d, 7d and 14d, there has statistical significance in difference (P<0.05).Conclusions: Acupoint electricity stimulation can reduce apoptosis in spinal dorsal horn.
