Abstract: Background Adequate postoperative analgesia after caesarean section is vital to promote early surgical recovery for parturients. However we are far from achieving the goals of optimum post-operative analgesia. Objective We conducted a review of recent advances in modalities for post-caesarean analgesia. Content After systematic review of recent researches, we summarized and assessed the application of analgesic modalities for post-caesarean analgesia. Trend Multimodal analgesia can not only provide effective postoperative analgesia but also promote breastfeeding and care of the newborn with fewer side effects, which will be extensively developed in the future.
