A review of research advances of the relationship between long non-coding RNAs and ischemic stroke

摘要:

长链非编码RNAs(long non-coding RNAs, lncRNAs)是一类不编码蛋白质的RNAs,通过调控基因表达,调节细胞分化、增殖和凋亡,进而参与神经系统生理和病理过程。近年来的研究发现,lncRNAs与缺血性脑卒中疾病的发生、发展过程密切相关,但其确切机制尚不明确。文章就lncRNAs在缺血性脑卒中病理机制的最新研究进展,重点阐述了几种与缺血性脑卒中最为密切的lncRNAs家族成员以及其对缺血区细胞和组织病理变化的具体作用机制,为进一步探讨lncRNAs与缺血性脑卒中的关系提供新的理论依据。lncRNAs有望成为缺血性脑卒中的早期预防、诊断和治疗的新靶点。

Abstract:

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are a class of RNAs that do not encode proteins. They regulate cell differentiation, proliferation and apoptosis by regulating gene expression and then participate in physiological and pathological processes of the nervous system. Recent studies have found that lncRNAs are involved in the occurrence and development of ischemic stroke disease, but the exact mechanism is still unclear. This review summarizes research advances on several members of the lncRNAs family most closely related to ischemic stroke in the recent studies and their specific mechanisms of action on the pathological changes in cell and tissues in ischemic areas. These mechanisms could provide a novel theoretical basis for further investigation of the relationship between lncRNAs and ischemic stroke. lncRNAs are expected to be a new target for early prevention, diagnosis and treatment of ischemic stroke.
