The cardiopulmonary bypass(CPB) supplies the blood to important organs during cardiac arrest period, which however may result in severe systematic inflammation response and consequently CPB related lung injury. Currently, there is no definitive and effective treatment for CPB related lung injury. This review will focus on the mechanism, risk factors and possible lung protection strategies for CPB related lung injury.
