Abstract: Ultrasound‑guided stellate ganglion block (SGB), with clear and accurate location, high success rate and low complications, has become a popular SGB method for clinicians. A case of cervical sympathetic chain injury induced by ultrasound‑guided SGB is reported. The persistent symptoms on the injured side included slightly smaller palpebral fissure than the opposite side, slightly drooping eyelids, and slightly blurred medial visual field. SGB was stopped without special treatment and the patient was followed up regularly. Six months later, the patient had equal width of palpebral fissure without drooping eyelids, and the blur of medial visual field was significantly alleviated. The experience and lessons of this case are summarized to provide reference for how to avoid and deal with such complications in ultrasound‑guided SGB treatment.
