Currently, frailty is a hot topic in the field of geriatrics, of which the most prominent clinical manifestation is the impairment of the ability to respond to stress events, which is caused by the decline of multi‑system physiological function. Studies have shown that many factors are involved in frailty besides age. In recent years, the influence of pain on the occurrence and development of frailty has received widespread attention. This review summarized the commonly used frailty assessment tools, the correlation between pain and frailty, the possible mechanism of their correlation, and the clinical significance of exploring the correlation between them.
