Abstract: Sepsis, a life‑threatening organ dysfunction caused by a dysregulated host response to infection, is a global health priority as its high morbidity and mortality, which significantly places an increased burden on healthcare resources. Artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms, based on a large amount of data, may optimize sepsis management. This review summarizes the application of AI algorithms in sepsis in recent years, including AI algorithms in early screening diagnosis, treatment management, and prognosis prediction. In addition, the fundamental problems that need to be solved before clinical application are discussed. The aim of this review is to provide a reference for the application of the AI algorithm in sepsis in the future.
