Abstract: An increasing variety of procedures are performed in ambulatory settings. Neuromuscular blocking is an indispensable part in anesthesia for ambulatory surgery, but their effects are individually different and probably cause postoperatively residual neuromuscular block, which brings substantial danger to the patients. This review aims to estimate both clinically well established and promising neuromuscular blocking agents, to summarize most available and new neuromuscular antagonist, and to discuss individualized optimal extent of relaxation during ambulatory surgery and neuromuscular blockade monitoring technique, so as to ensure proper neuromuscular blockade management.
