Abstract: Patient‑reported outcome measurement (PROM) is an assessing tool which directly capture patients' subjective experiences regarding their own disease and corresponding treatment, without any modification or interpretation by healthcare professionals. Initially applied for evaluating the benefits and risks of drug therapy, PROM have subsequently been extended to be used in chronic refractory diseases and mental health disorders. With increasing recognition of its value among clinical and scientific researchers, the application of PROM has become widespread. Based on the review of perioperative related PROM literature, this review briefly outlines the utilization of PROM during the perioperative period, aiming to provide guidance for future applications and development in this context.
