Sub-clinical hypothyroidism is associated with both high risk of coronary heart disease and increased mortality from cardiovascular causes. This review summarizes the protective effects of thyroid hormone on myocardial ischemia, and possible mechanisms of thyroid hormone and thyroid hormone receptors．
