Background Nerve block with ultrasound guided has been adopted and used gradually for its superiority such as more accurate location,higher success rate ,less complication and lower cost. Objective To summarize the superiority and application of the ultrasound guided nerve block . Content The paper compared the advantages and disadvantages between conventional and ultrasound-guided methods in the peripheral nerve block anesthesia , and demonstrate that the latter has the higher success rate and less complications . The application of this technique and analgesia in the upper and lower extremities in detail was described . Trend The ultrasound guided nerve block will be widely used in the future .
