背景 配对盒基因6 (paired-box 6, Pax6)是配对同源框基因家族的一个高度保守成员,对于前脑发育具有重要影响,其缺失或突变可导致大脑结构异常和功能障碍。 目的 对Pax6影响前脑神经发育及认知功能的研究进展作一系统阐述。 内容 讨论Pax6的特性及其在前脑发育(主要是维持神经前体细胞特性、调节神经祖细胞增殖分化和神经元迁移等方面)中的作用,同时对Pax6相关的认知功能改变做一总结。 趋向 对Pax6的功能及其作用机制的深入研究可能为一些Pax6相关的认知功能障碍提供新的治疗靶点。

Abstract:

Background Paired-box 6 (Pax6) is a highly conserved transcription member of homebox family with numerous actions in forebrain development, while missing or mutations of Pax6 can lead to abnormal structure and function of brain. Objective To review the role of Pax6 in forebrain development and cognitive function. Content In this literature, we will introduce the characteristics of Pax6, and the role of Pax6 in forebrain development, especially in the correct specification of neural progenitors, the balance between proliferation and differentiation of neural progenitor cells and the regulation of cortical neuronal migration. Moreover, we will also introduce the Pax6 related cognitive dysfunction in this review. Trend Further researches into this area may provide useful insights and directions into the Pax6 related cognitive dysfunction.
