Abstract: 【Abstract】Background Measuring the amount of blood loss during transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) will help finding the symptoms timely, taking effective measures to reduce postoperative complications and promoting the patient recover soon. Objective To lay the foundation for exploring ideal methods in the future, this review summarised and analyzed the literature related to the measurement of the amount of blood loss during TURP in recent years. Content Reviewing the development, brief principle and steps, advantages and disadvantages, and clinical application of all the measuring methods. Trend No gold standard exists at present. If a measuring method brings an accuracy result, a good feasibility and a high cost/benefit ratio, it will be the major trend.
