Abstract: Background Tumor recurrence represents a major clinical challenge for clinicans. It is known that the protein kinase B(Akt) pathway plays an indispensable role in cell proliferation and apoptosis. The expression level and activation of opioid receptors are closely related to the biological effects of various cancer cells. Objective This article will explore the role of opioid receptors-mediated Akt signaling pathway in tumor recurrence. Content There is a close relation between the high expression of Akt and tumor recurrence. Regulation mechanisms of opioid receptors with Akt pathways are explored. Trend Opioids analgesics are widely used in clinical practice. Further research are warranted to investigate the mechanisms of tumor recurrence, which will further provides evidence for clinical anesthesia and analgesia safety in cancer patients.
