Abstract: 【Abstact】 Objective To compare the efficacy of fentanyl and sufentanil for intravertebral labor analgesia. Methods A systematic search (PubMed、EMBASE、Cochrane library、OVID/MEDLINE), up to May 2014 was performed for randomized controlled trials involving the comparison of the efficacy of fentanyl versus sufentanil for intravertebral labor analgesia. The method recommended by Cochrane Collaboration was used to evaluate the quality of each study. Evaluation indexes included mode of delivery, the incidence of adverse effects, duration of analgesia for the first dose, tatol bupivacaine dose, umbilical artery PH, Apgar score≥7 at 1 min, total length of labor, patient satisfaction. Meta-analysis was conducted using the RevMan 5.1 software. Results A total of 1081 patients from 18 trials were included in the Meta-analysis, 546 patients received fentanyl and 535 patients received sufentanil. Compared with fentanyl group, duration of analgesia for the first dose was significantly longer [P<0.001,WMD and 95%CI 28.07(21.64,34.50)].and no statistically significant difference in mode of delivery, the incidence of adverse effects, total bupivacaine dose, umbilical artery PH, Apgar score≥7 at 1 min, total length of labor, patient satisfaction in sufentanil group(P>0.05). Conclusion In addition to duration of analgesia of the first dose obviously longer in sufentanil group, there were no significant difference between fentanyl and sufentanil in other evaluation indexes, they all could provide nice labor analgesia results.
