Abstract: Background Trigeminal neuralgia is a common clinical chronic neuropathic pain syndrome, the treatment for which includes pharmacological therapy ,minimally invasive treatment, operation and so on. Minimally invasive procetures are mainly based on x-ray or CT guidance, while ultrasound is becoming a promising new tool in this field for its real-time visualization without x- ray exposure . Objective To summarize the relevant literatures of minimally invasive treatment of trigeminal neuralgia under ultrasound guidance, and provide a theoretical basis for its clinical application. Content To explore the anatomic landmark and localization of ultrasound-guided trigeminal nerve block, as well as its operating procedure, efficacy, indications and potential complications. Trend The efficacy and operating details of this approach should be further investigated.
