Abstract: Background Intraoperative hemostasis is important procedure of surgical operation, Vasoconstrictor is one kind of hemostatic drugs used in clinic, which stops bleeding by contracting the injured blood vessel wall. However, locally administered vasoconstrictor can induce change in systemic hemodynamics, even leading to the occurrence of adverse events after absorbing into circulation. Objective To strengthen the understanding of the adverse hemodynamic effects and the consequent hazards of vasoconstrictor local using for intraoperative hemostatic. Content This paper summarized the characteristics, systemic hemosynamic and the probably consequent adverse events of vasoconstrictors commonly used during intraoperative hemostasis, and introduced the administering methods and the clinical application. Trend Searching for the ideal vasoconstrictor and rational application methods being fit both for reducing intraoperative hemorrhage and minimizing the influence on hemodynamics.
