Background Novel oncongene DJ-1 (PARK7) is an important discovery in the field of cell biology and pathophysiology. In recent decades, an increasing number of studies focus on the relationship between DJ-1 and organ protection, and explore its mechanism. Objective To review the relationship between DJ-1 and organ protection as well as the mechanism. Content Briefly introduce the characteristic and function of DJ- 1 and review its role in the pathological process of some diseases in nerve, cardiac and other important organs. Tends DJ-1 plays a key role in organ protection via antioxidation, however further studies are needed in its action mechanism.
