Abstract: Background Brain injury is the main reason for the unfavourable neurological outcome after cardiac arrest, however, predicting the neurological outcome after cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is extremely difficult in early. Bisctral Index is a good tool for assessment of neurological prognosis of patient, has been proved in clinical studies. Objective The value of bispectral index has been confirmed, however, the accuracy is still controversial. This review aims to summarize the value of bispectral monitoring in neurological prognosis of patients with cardiac arrest. Content This paper will briefly review the BIS monitoring in assessment of cerebral prognosis after cardiac arrest recently. Trend Bispectral monitoring should be deeply developed and improved, as its application for predicting neurological prognosis of patient with cardiac arrest.
