Abstract: Intraoperative hypotension(IOH), a common complication of general anesthesia, may have a serious impact on postoperative recovery of patients. By reviewing recent research progress of the correlation between IOH and postoperative outcome in noncardiac surgery, this paper expounded the threshold of IOH and explored the possible reasons for differences in IOH thresholds in different researches. Meanwhile, this paper explored the effect of IOH on the occurrence of postoperative adverse outcomes and discussed whether we can reduce the incidence of postoperative complications by avoiding IOH. Finally, by analyzing and summarizing, the direction of further research is to clear the definition of IOH in specific surgical types and populations, and explore the effect of IOH on postoperative outcome after excluding the influence of other abnormal vital signs by more clinical trials.
