【Abstract】 Objective To observe the effects of atomizing inhalation PGE1 on lung oxygenation function in patients after completion of one lung ventilation(OLV). Methods Forty-two patients with right thoracic esophageal cancer undergoing elective resection were enrolled in the study and were divided into test group(group T) and control group(group C) according to the random number table .Patients in each group received different therapy when one lung ventilation started, namely inhaling PGE10.2 μg/kg via left lung in group T or inhaling normal saline in group C. Radial arterial blood were taken at three time points. 3 min before one lung ventilation(T1), 3 min after completion of one lung ventilation(T2), and 30 min after T2(T3) for blood gas analysis and oxygenation index(OI) and pulmonary shunt rate(Qs/Qt) were calculated. The hemodynamic indexes of two groups were recorded at these points . Results OI of all the patients in two groups at T2,T3 decreased compared with those at T1, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).There was difference between the two groups of OI values at T2 and T3(P <0.05); The rate of intrapulmonary shunt in the two groups of patients at T2,T3 increased compared with those at T1 and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The shunt rate of lung in group T was significantly lower than that in group C at T2 and T3,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);There were no significant differences in hemodynamic indics between the two groups. Conclusions Atomization inhalation with PGE1 during OLV on ventilated lung can improve oxygenation and decrease intrapulmonary shunt in patients undergoing one lung ventilation.
