Abstract: Pain perception is a complex function of the nervous system, and its specific regulatory mechanisms remain unclear.Autophagy is a conservative and highly regulated "self-cleaning" process prevalent in eukaryotes. Recently, it has been found to be associated with a variety of pain phenomena and may become a new target for pain regulation. The relevant reports about autophagy and pain are summarized as follows in order to provide ideas on the mechanism of autophagy in painful diseases.
