【Abstract】 As the population ages, elderly patients requiring surgery are increasing．That was taken challenged to anesthesia. How to fast and exactly assessments perioperative risk in these patients during clinic work is very important. Recently, gait speeds associated with elderly patients received more and more attention. This article review measured of gait speed, association between gait speed and organ function and outcome of surgery in elderly patients. This may provide reference for clinic anesthesia management in elderly patients. Future studies to gait speed and geriatric medical may help perioperative management in elderly patients.
