Abstract: Ultrasound guided hip capsule pericapsular nerve group block (PNGB) is a kind of new method of nerve block. At present, PNGB has been applied in the anesthesia and analgesia of the hip joint and lower limbs. The authors retrieves a large number of literatures about PNGB technology. In this review, the origin of PNGB technology, neuroanatomical basis, ultrasound‑guided PNGB technology, clinical application of PNGB and the advantages and disadvantages of PNGB versus the traditional lower extremity nerve block technology are introduced. PNGB has a broad space for clinical development due to its comprehensive nerve block, simple operation and minimal influence on the patient's muscle strength and recovery time. However, as a novel nerve block technology, PNGB is largely unknown. This review carries on the detailed summary of PNGB about the above content.
