Abstract: Sugammadex is a synthetic γ‑cyclodextrin derivative to reverse steroidal neuromuscular blocking agents. However, there are still many reports on the adverse effects of sugammadex in recent years. This article mainly introduces the new clinical application on the adverse effects of sugammadex in recent years. The most severe and common adverse effects are residual neuromuscular block, hypersensitivity, coagulation disorders, cardiovascular action, bronchospasm and laryngospasm, and other adverse effects including nausea and vomiting, prolonged renal excretion, mitochondrial‑dependent neuronal apoptosis, and metallic taste. This article provides a corresponding clinical reference for sugammadex rational application in the antagonistic muscle relaxation field.
