Recent advances of autonomic dysfunction in obstructive sleep apnea syndrome

Abstract:

Obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) is a common clinical sleep disorder, which leads to metabolic disorders and damage to various systems of the body has been more and more research and confirmed. There is a close relationship between autonomic nervous system (ANS) and sleep. Studies have found that many patients with sleep disorders will have symptoms of autonomic nerve damage. This article reviews the role of ANS dysfunction in OSAS, including pathophysiological changes in the cardiovascular and non‑cardiovascular systems caused by ANS dysfunction. It is hoped that it can provide a theoretical basis for the clinical prevention and treatment of OSAS‑related diseases and perioperative anesthesia management.
