Abstract: The current optimal treatment for breast cancer is surgery, but due to the large size of surgical resection, patients often suffer from more severe postoperative pain. The chronic pain after surgery is also called post‑mastectomy pain syndrome (PMPS). This type of pain is related to ineffective control of acute pain. This article summarizes the clinical research progress on postoperative pain of breast cancer in the following three aspects: the epidemiology of postoperative pain of breast cancer, the influencing factors of postoperative pain of breast cancer and the current methods of postoperative analgesia of breast cancer.
