Abstract: Tooth injury is one of the common complications during general anesthesia. If patients have dental defects before surgery, the risk of tooth injury is higher during airway management with general anesthesia. In recent years, the visualization technology and new technology can be applied to intubation in patients with dental abnormalities. This review briefly describes the characteristics of intubation equipment and other auxiliary, such as different types of visual laryngoscope, laryngeal mask, fiber bronchoscope, light rods. Advantages and disadvantages of using the above auxiliary intubation technology and composite intubation technology for endotracheal intubation in patients with dental abnormalities were discussed. In this review, the clinical application of different intubation techniques in patients with dental abnormalities is summarized. Nowadays, more and more new intubation techniques are being used in clinic to reduce the incidence of perioperative dental injury.
