Abstract: There are increasing reports concerning the application of satellite ganglion block (SGB) in patients undergoing cardiac surgery. This article summarizes the recent use of SGB in off‑pump coronary artery bypass grafting (OPCABG), especially its effects on angiospasm, heart rate variation, stress response, and postoperative cognitive function in elderly patients. The clinical application of SGB also requires further research and continuous exploration, in order to fully exert the medical value.
